Mackenzie Soniak
Dr. Mackenzie Soniak is the Infant and Early Childhood Capacity Building Director with SC Infant Mental Health Association (SCIMHA). She earned her doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Antioch University, New England. She completed her pre-doctoral internship in infant mental health at Tulane University School of Medicine and her postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Colorado Medical School Irving Harris Program in Child Development and Infant Mental Health. Dr. Soniak has a strong passion for working with young children and their families. She believes that all young children must have access to culturally sensitive, relationship-based, and trauma-informed care across the promotion, prevention and intervention continuum. Prior to her role with SCIMHA, she worked as a clinical psychologist providing evidence-based, relationship-focused assessments and treatments for infants, young children and their families, focusing on working with those involved in the child welfare system. In her current role, Dr. Soniak works with those who serve the infant mental health population through building systems of care for child-serving systems through training, reflective consultation, and policy work.
