Melanie Chaplin

Melanie Chaplin graduated from the University of South Carolina and has worked with the SC Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) for 21 years within the Eligibility Enrollment Member Services Division. She has extensive knowledge in the MAGI, Non-MAGI, and Long-Term Care Medicaid programs; however, her primary focus and passion is Long-Term Care. Melanie has had many responsibilities during her time with DHHS as an eligibility specialist, county and regional supervisor, training development, training facilitator, and policy specialist and policy support. She takes the mission of the SCDHHS very seriously by ensuring applicants and beneficiaries receive the most health coverage at the least cost to the taxpayers. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her husband, David and her children, Roddy and Cooper, riding her bicycle, gardening (playing in the dirt), reading, making jams and preserves, and touring historical sites in South Carolina.
