Mercedes Rubiano
Mercedes Rubiano began her Social Security Administration career in 2010 in Florida before transferring to South Carolina. Currently, Mercedes serves as a Technical Expert for the Social Security Administration where she is responsible for conducting interviews to obtain, clarify and verify information about individual applicants who are eligible for initial and/or continuing retirement, survivors, disability, health insurance benefits, and eligibility to supplemental security income payments including state supplements. In addition, Mercedes works closely with various community agencies throughout the state of South Carolina to assist and educate the public about the benefits Social Security offers including internet services.
Mercedes received her undergraduate degree in Human Development Public and Social Policy from the University of Connecticut and later earned a Master of Science in Public Administration from the University of New Haven. In her personal time, she enjoys traveling with her family and is an avid volunteer in her local community.
