One child struggling with hunger is too many. Summer can be tough for some children. Children need good nutrition all year long. When schools are closed, healthy meals are harder to come by. Great news! Summer meals for children and teens 18 and under are available at sites across our state!
Stopping by a summer meal site not only saves you time and money spent grocery shopping and meal prepping; it also helps support our schools and communities. No application or registration required! To find meal sites near you, visit the link below or text FOOD or COMIDA to 304-304.
Do you need help accessing fresh, nutritious groceries?
SNAP provides a monthly financial benefit to income-eligible individuals and families through an EBT (Electronic Benefits Transfer) card, which you can use to purchase groceries. With SNAP, you can stretch your monthly food dollars while choosing the ingredients and foods you know and love.
You can apply for SNAP with one of our Counselors at an SC Thrive site or over the phone with our Contact Center at 800.726.8774.
Hunger is closer than you think. SC Thrive is partnering with No Kid Hungry to improve healthy food access!
- No child should go hungry in America. But in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic, 1 in 6 kids could face hunger this year. No Kid Hungry is working to end childhood hunger by helping launch and improve programs that give all kids the healthy food they need to thrive. This is a problem we know how to solve. No Kid Hungry is a campaign of Share Our Strength, an organization committed to ending hunger and poverty. No Kid Hungry South Carolina is a public-private coalition working to ensure no kid will grow up hungry.
